Sirish Ghan (Albizia lebbeck) is an important Vishagna / Anti poison from Ayurveda. Its taste is Kashya /astringent, Tikta / bitter, Madhura / sweet, qualities are Laghu / light, Rooksha / dry, Tikshna/ sharp, pungent Vipaka, hot Veerya and balances all the three Dosha. Its actions are Kaphaghna / Anti kapha, Anti Ama, Kushthaghna / relieves skin diseases, Shothahara / anti-inflammatory, Stambhana / prevents water loss, Varniya / good for skin complexion, Vedanastaphana / analgesic and Vishaghna / anti-poison.
This is used by Vaidyas to control Shotha / inflammation, Kasa / cough/cold, Vrana / wounds, Kushtha / skin diseases, Krimi / worms, Visha roga / poisoning and allergies. The Albizia lebbeck bark yields tannins, friedelin and b-sitosterol, seeds give crude protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, niacin and ascorbic acid, amino acid, and flowers contain lupeol.
Extract and powder from: Sirish Ghan (Albizia lebbeck).
1-2 tablets, once or twice daily or as prescribed by your health practitioner.
